
Jeffrey A. Miller, D.O.
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Miller is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and has been a
member of the medical staff at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital since
moving to the area in 1993.
Dr. Miller graduated from Alfred University and received his undergraduate
medical training at the Nova Southeastern University’s College
of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic residency at
the hospital of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where
he was elected chief resident. He has previously served in the United
States Army Reserve, and has lectured throughout New England on the
diagnosis and treatment of sports related injuries.
Dr. Miller is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America
and sits on the State of Connecticut Medical Society’s Committee
on the Medical Aspects of Sports. He is a member of the Board of Directors
of the Connecticut Osteopathic Medical Society and has served as team
physician for the Saint Bernard High School football team and the
Mohegan Wolves Arena football team.
Currently Dr. Miller is the orthopaedic consultant for the Norwich
Icebreakers, Mitchell College Athletics, and Waterford High School
football. He enjoys snow skiing, water sports, and chasing his four
children field to field, game to game. |

Peter A. Wheeler, PA-C, ATC
Physician Assistant
A native of New Hampshire, Mr. Wheeler graduated from Plymouth State
University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education with
emphasis in sports medicine. Following graduation, he received a full
scholarship to Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in 1988 where
he completed his Master of Science degree while working as an assistant
athletic trainer for the Liberty Bowl champion Hoosier football team.
He then worked as the head athletic trainer at Saint Joseph’s
College in Maine until entering the physician assistant studies program
at Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pennsylvania, in 1992.
Peter has been in the New London area since completing his PA degree,
providing orthopaedic care in the community since 1994. He and Dr.
Miller have worked closely together since 1997. He is a member of
the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a certified member
of the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is also a Captain
in the Connecticut Army National Guard. |
